Family farming and rural enterprise

Family Agriculture Enterprise Development

We work with family farmers and rural organisations to connect farm production, business management, useful services and market opportunities.

Diversified farms and household production

Vegetables, poultry, pigs, rice and tree crops can serve different food and income needs. CIRD works with households and field teams to understand production conditions, support practical skills and review progress.

Producer services and rural enterprises

Cooperatives and producer groups can organise inputs, records, technical support, collection and marketing. CIRD’s work connects these services with organisational and business planning.

Women’s savings and livelihood recovery

From July 2021 to May 2022, CIRD worked with women’s savings groups, agricultural cooperatives and producer groups in Siem Reap and Banteay Meanchey for a Food and Agriculture Organization livelihood-recovery project. The work addressed group management, services and participatory quality assurance. Earlier work in Stung Treng linked women’s participation with farming, savings groups and rice-cooperative management.

Agreements that connect producers and buyers

On 31 July 2024, 13 agricultural cooperatives and two producer groups signed rice-supply agreements with a contracted quantity of 5,000 tonnes. CIRD worked with the International Finance Corporation, BRICo rice mill and cooperative partners on the event.
