Organisations that serve their members
CIRD supports farmer groups, cooperatives, associations and savings groups with governance, member services, records, financial management and business planning.
In March 2026, CIRD’s business-section team assessed 20 farmer organisations in Preah Vihear as part of a business-planning assignment. Discussions and organisational information informed the assessment and follow-up planning.
Assessing producer organisations before business planningOn 15 January 2026, CIRD and its development partner GRET worked with 16 savings-group committees and local public representatives to review the previous year, discuss priorities and agree cooperation arrangements.
Savings groups review progress and agree their next steps
A 2021–2022 livelihood-recovery assignment in Siem Reap and Banteay Meanchey covered 14 women’s savings groups and six agricultural cooperatives. CIRD provided group-formation and management support, alongside work with producer groups using participatory quality assurance.
Producer associations can organise product specifications and quality controls. Cooperatives can manage records, services, collection and buyer relationships. CIRD’s work with pepper, palm sugar, salt and wild-honey associations connects member skills with specifications, controls and market promotion.
CIRD has also provided technical and facilitation support for establishing sector associations, including the Cambodia Pepper and Spices Federation and Cambodian Efficient Stove Promotion Association. This work brings producers, businesses and public partners into shared organisational arrangements.

Assignment scheduled through July 2027CIRD's business section provides technical assistance to farmer organisations under Public-Social-Private Partnerships for Ecologically-Sound Agriculture and Resilient Livelihood in the Northern Tonle Sap Basin. The assignment connects organisational assessment, business planning, climate-resilient farming and market readiness.

Past assignmentCIRD worked with women’s savings groups, agricultural cooperatives and producer groups in Siem Reap and Banteay Meanchey during the COVID-19 livelihood-recovery response. The assignment combined group formation, management skills, member services and participatory quality assurance.

Past assignmentCIRD coordinated Cambodian work within a regional programme on geographical indications in Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar. Support covered Kampot pepper, Kampong Speu palm sugar, Kampot and Kep salt and salt flower, and Mondulkiri wild honey. A geographical indication connects a product’s reputation and qualities with its place of origin.

Past assignmentCIRD supported rice, vegetable and chicken producers and their organisations. The assignment combined technical farming support with cooperative formation, management, business planning and market links.
